Does anyone feed during shed???
Just wondering if anyone ussually feed their bp when they are in shed??? Mine has taken food when in shed, just dont know if i should even offer her food..... What you think????
Re: Does anyone feed during shed???
No, not generally. I do have a few eaters that will eat pretty much no matter what but shed is stressful enough I think, without the added demands of digesting a meal.
Re: Does anyone feed during shed???
Blue...shed....they will eat at anytime. If they will take it then give it to them. Now with that being said....if they are blue be careful if you are feeding live. They really cannot see and could be at risk by a live feed. Also when they are blue...their aim can be quite interesting! ;)
Re: Does anyone feed during shed???
My girl has only shed once since I have had her. Come her regular;ar feeding day I was wondering f I should try or not. I thought I would try and she took it no problem. SO yes, I guess I do feed during shed!
Re: Does anyone feed during shed???
My guy eats for me whenever I try to feed him...lucky I guess. So in short, yes I keep my regular schedule when he's shedding and it's worked great out so far.
Re: Does anyone feed during shed???
I always offer food on the scheduled day some eat some dont when they are in shed.
Re: Does anyone feed during shed???
You will probably find out that most people feed whether the snake is in shed or not, I know I do and the majority eats only a handful will refuse while in shed.
Re: Does anyone feed during shed???
All of mine are different... a few will always eat during shed (Scout, Julius, Toby, Vinnie), two never will (Mona, Delilah), and the others are hit & miss. Usually I offer the prey regardless, and just be prepared for a refusal. I feed mostly live, so leftovers either go to somebody else, or join my breeding colony for a week.

i don't see how some people make this an issue, i fed mine in shed/blue no problem. i'm sure they eat in the wild when they're shedding
