I like the idea of petitions to congress. Anything helps, but the thing that bothers me about this one is that the first thing that is mentioned is how imported reptiles are kept in terrible conditions. We need to be very careful about throwing a huge part of our hobby under the bus. I know as a captive breeder it is easy to say, we can afford to get rid of imports. I think that sets a very bad example to congress and the senate. Remember there was little uprising when it seemed to only be Burms and Rocks on that list. What I'm saying is that imports have a place in the hobby and we can not just expect congress and the senate to think that importers are bad and we are all great. They will lump us all together because who is buying these imports?? People like us when we first get into the hobby. We need to support all responsible ownership of reptiles, even imports. Remember you head down the road of throwing something under the bus and where does it stop??? Just my two cents, for what it;s worth. Thanks, Brian(BHB)

I agree with everythign thats been said if you go i think to the second page it allows you to preview and edit the letter you can take out or put in anything you want i just thought it was a powerfull way to get a hold of indvidual rep from our states thats all didnt mean to upset anyone or cause harm. so if you dont like the letter then change it.

Sorry, but I don't support a ban on importation. Let me know if anyone writes up a petition that's more inclusive.

If I understood this correctly you can go in and edit the petition after people have signed it?? THats like writing out a blank check. Theres more holes in this then swiss cheese.

At this time the only and best course of action is to hand write your own letters to the congress and senators . A hand written letter will have much more power than another petition at this point. :snake:
