Rack with Hide question?

I noticed a lot of people only use one hide in a rack system. Where exactly do you place the hide at? Warm side or Cool side? Maybe where you mostly see the python hang out at? I'm just curious since I've always used two hides in my racks but now that my ball pythons are growing, maybe one hide will be enough security for them and provide extra room.

Always put it on warm side and the snake will move it where thye want. My guys will thermoregulate while still in thier hides as they move them around.

When I use hides, I put them on the warm side.

I really just throw them in. My snakes like to redecorate.

I put them on the warm side. The snakes then go back and forth between sitting in the hide, moving the hide and sitting in the warm spot outside the hide, or sitting between the top of the hide and the lid of the tub. Sooo...yeah, like Kaorte said, the snakes will redecorate. :D
