    Heat spike!!!!
I was playing xbox and i noticed the thermometer on her basking spot said 105*F :O!! so i immediatly took her out and i am letting her cool off by roaming around a little bit. She is definitely warm but she is cooling off and the temp in her gage is lowering to about 90. Thank god i got her in time! Will she be okay? Has anybody else had this experience?

And the problem was that i left the lamp(50w red bulb) on for to long. It is her night lamp and thought it was a little cold so i left it on. i guess not :tears:

She is in a 10g tank with a heat mat controlled by a thermostat which is usually functioning perfectly. she has 2 hides and a waterbowl. You can look at my post titled "pheobes house" if ud like.

What kind of Thermostat do you own? If it's a cheapy 30-50 dollar T-stat, maybe it's time for an upgrade.

So, the lamp wasn't on a thermostat or dimmer?

I've never used a thermostat for a lamp. If its a 10g, I'd try using a smaller wattage bulb though. I usually used a 50w for a 20g tank. 25w should do fine.

She should be ok. I had a temperature spike in one of my racks because the probe had come loose from the heat tape. The temp inside reached 105. Thankfully I got the balls out and in another rack and was able to put the probe back in place. I would let her chill out for a bit, then put her back in under normal temperatures.
