    Is this from the mites?
I'm pretty livid right now. I bought an albino female and she was delivered a bit ago...with a raging case of mites. This is the SECOND snake I bought recently who came to me with mites. I even specifically asked this seller to check her and he specifically assured me she's mite-free. And it's bad. Raging. There's no way the pictures he advertised her with were current.

She also has some scale discoloration/cracked/chipped scales. I'm going to take her to the vet, but I thought I'd ask here, too. I didn't notice this with my other snake who has mites, but he's also not albino.

Could this be from the mites? What else could it be? Her underbelly scales look fine, it's just the ones on her back. Scars? The black specs aren't mites themselves, they're browned scales.

(edited to add that these spots did not appear on her in the pictures he posted. I'm hoping they're something that will go away with treatment and a few good sheds?)

Can you get a closer picture of the brown scales?

I think I saw this snake on Fauna for sale and noticed them in the pics provided. That really sucks....

That's not where I purchased her, but she may have been advertised somewhere else, too. The picture I saw was her but without the discoloration (or maybe it was too distant to notice?) I agree, it totally sucks! Lesson learned: buy from reputable breeders!

I have no idea what the spots could be, but if you haven't already, order some Provent a mite!

apparently this sellers claim of mite free means the mites are free, from your account this sounds like outright deception.have you contacted the seller and have they made a offer to right the situation? if not perhaps you could save someone the headache by reveling the seller.

All those spots will shed off.

THose don not look like mite caused. Cold be part of the snakes aging coloration and or stuck shed.

Those will shed off. My albino has a few brown scaled on her here and there but thats been there since she hatched.
