Just thought I would share some of our fancy rats we have weaned (most are not food, but pets) some are interesting colors others are just your run of the mill hoodeds.

They are just in these tubs for pictures, its easier in a smaller space with the white shredded paper background to show the contrasting colors.

Those are some fine lookin' rats!

Maybe you know . . . Is amber a recessive morph? We've got two does here, but have never had an amber pup. I'd love to add more ambers, as well as other colors. Lilac, cinnamon and mink are a few I've never been able to find!

I think Amber/beige are similar to recessive Yellow in Mice, so assuming as such, I would guess that they were recessive as well, just like the Himalayan/Siamese.

Our next breeding project is to make Blue Point Siamese/Himalayan.

This was our first litter with Mink, Cinnamon and Lilac. the pairing was a Blue Dumbo Rex male to an Agouti Female, so I have them paired up again to see what we get this time.

As soon as our dumbo siamese female weans her litter I will pick out the blue rex babies from her and they will get paired up to make Dumbo Blue-point Siamese, Even possibly Dumbo Blue-point Siamese Rex
