    Best available Macro Digital Camera?
I'm looking to buying a new digital camera, so far I've had great results from a Konica-Minolta a few years ago but they are no longer made, as Sony bought them out.

I have also used a Sony Cybershot mid-level for macros and got great results, but Sony's tend be high-priced even at their low-end options.

Today I tried out and so far liked the Canon Powershot SX120, I'm looking to shoot very good close-ups, macro style, for reptiles and field observations. Unfortunately, this model takes alkaline batteries, which is something I personally think isn't very up-to-date with camera's having their own rechargeable lithium battery packs.

Anyway, what's your take and what would you recommend?

I have a huge photo album that's been kind of inactive, but my photos can be seen at http://revxus.deviantart.com

the key to getting those super close shots is more to do with the lens than the camera body. However I have heard that the Cannon Rebel XSi with a good Macro lens takes a very sharp macro shot..

Check them and the Nikon D3000 or D5000 with Marco les also..99.995% of all DSLR's I know of offer the Li rechargeable packs. But get ready your not getting out for under 500.00 for the body and another 2-300 for the lens to start..

Canon powershot sx120 rules! for $190 at walmart, I think its a steal. 10X optical zoom, awesome quality pics and huge screen, what else do you want?

You can always buy the rechargeable batteries :P
