How soon to take babies away
Wondering how soon to take the babies away from mom.

I thought the mom would wean them off herself but I have been reading that this may not be the case.
So I need to know how long I should keep them with her.

I think most are eating by them selves now.

I have 3 different litters right now that are different ages.
But the first litter was born on Oct 25th I think it was.
Will have to try to find my paper that has dates on it.

Anyway I just needed to find out about this so I know what to do .

    thanks

Once they hit about 3 and a half to 4 weeks, you're good to separate. ;)

Agreed, if they are assaulting mom for food at 3 1/2 weeks I pull them.

When they are weaned....3-4 weeks of age...usually running around on their own by that size...

I usually seperate a few days after I notice them chewing on little chunks that fall through the mesh. As soon as you notice them eating and drinking on their own I would say, but i'm fairly new to rats.
