help about buying my ball python
hello guys i wish to buy a hatchling ball python , will i find any ball pythons this year about 1/2months old? cause iv been looking in my country , some say they didnt have, one said that it will have in december (tough i highly doubt these since in december snakes are in hibernation the ones that get to breed) the other have an adult one and the other one said its gonna have new ones in 2weeks tough i don't know if they are hatchlings. and today i visited another petshop wich said you won't find any this time of the year there's only hatchlings at the end of somer , he has 4months old one which costs 70euros.

i cant get them from abroad since it costs too much , about 50$ the snake and 50$ shiping and i think 50$ shiping to the use not to malta which im sure it will cost me more. is there hope or should i wait till next year? :S

Ok you do not sound like you know ANYTHING about ball pythons. They do not hibernate at all. You probably will not find a 2 week old because most breeders will not sell until it has shed and eaten a few times. You dont know anything about them, so please do alot more research before you buy one

oh now iget it maybe you tought 2weeks because i said 1/2months and it reads like half a month but then i wouldn't have said 1/2months but 1/2 a month, but anyway it was a bit of a mistake by my part so sorry but you shouldn't have jumped on me like that dude :P

I think even 1 month is still to young to sell. I wouldnt sell a baby unless it was 6 weeks min. That is providing it has had 4-5 consecutive meals. Otherwise I would prefer 2 months old plus.

I dont know where you are located but in canada where I am you can find them at all ages almost any time of year. Most breeders are just pairing thier adults now so you may find some late 09 babies. My recent clutch is 7 weeks old.

Ya ball pythons do not hibernate at all. SOME breeders cool them before breeding, but this only means lowering temps by like 2 degress.
It just doesn't sound like you know much cause ur grammar is pretty bad...

He's from Malta - I don't believe that English is his first language, so why don't we cut him some slack?

Unless you can find a local breeder with late clutches, it's not likely that you will find a 1 to 2 month old baby at this time of year. Imports are usually hatched in the spring, and arrive in their export countries late spring, early summer.

Is there a particular reason why you want one that is that young?

maltese is my first language so sorry for my bad grammers, and no i dont know much about balls i know about corns. thanks for confirming that the petshop that told me they only hatch at the end of summer is wrong, as you can see petshops here aren't that much of experts neither so its not really my fault from getting bad information about balls.

the reason i want a one so young is very simple, i bought my first corn snake 1year4months old and it was too much damn small for his age and he still is (was about 40cm at the age of 1year4months.) when i asked the petshop why he said that they don't feed them alot so they stun their growth, thats why i said i will never buy a snake that age again. now i called the petshop that told me he will have ball pythons in 2weeks which i said earlier about and told me that he's gonna have hatchlings in about 3weeks. and he also told me that they are gonna be about 4months and they never have younger then that. so its probably as you say i must find a local breeder which i don't even know if there is one on this small island since snakes aint so common pets here.
