    Texting
So I have come across a general question I pose to all of you.

Do you text the people you do business with?

(With or without the knowledge that they are willing to accept this type of communication???)

I have done full business deals from start to finish through text if that counts.

I prefer speaking on the phone if face to face meetings are not possible. I do not even like emailing. Seams like you can trust someone more after you speak to them.

I think if I knew the reputation of the breeder or knew they were considered a good guy to buy from I would see no problem with a text transaction, it is after all recorded communication in the event of legal issues.

Now if this was a very small breeder that I didn't know very well or a not well known breeder referred by someone else I would prefer to speak with that person to get a sense of what they are like.

    Just my thoughts.:salute:

I would do that with someone that I am really familiar with or that I consider a friend. I'd have no trouble doing a transaction via text from beginning to end with Adam, Heather, Charlie or Jamie to name a few. With someone I'm not familiar with I prefer to start off via email so that I have a copy of everything said and finish over the phone most likely. I've done deals with BHB and VPI strictly through email so I guess it's not much different than texting.

I prefer to do business via ONLY EMAIL and through PM if I'm doing it with a fellow board member as well as via PHONE.

I will text and accept text messages from someone I've gotten to know, but start to finish through text messages, no thanks.

I like to stay as professional as possible.

I just don't see the point in texting myself, and don't use texting for anything, much less buying/selling reptiles. To me, it's easier to just pick up the phone and call them, talk it over, and hang up.

I personally would MUCH rather text or email then talk on the phone. I hate talking on the phone, i am just not a phone person at all. Mine and Charlie's deal was mainly through text and email. Nothing personal I just really am not a phone person but could talk all day via text, PM, email.

I also always ask if it is okay that I text them. Just in case they don't have unlimited texts or just would perfer me not to.
