    Snake poop
How long should it take for a BP to poop after eating? He ate on Tuesday, a rat pinky. This our first feed and don't really know what to expect.

Anywhere from a week to two months... or longer. :) It depends on the snake, food size, snake size, growth rate, phase of the moon, and alignment of the stars. :P

Seriously, snakes go when they need to. A rat pinky isn't too big and the small snake you're feeding it to will probably convert most of it to body mass. Don't expect anything for at least a couple of weeks.

Just a side note... don't wait for him to defecate before you feed him again. Just keep feeding regularly, and he'll go when he needs to. ;)

Well, it could take anywhere from a few days to a week or so. I wouldn't worry too much. If it goes a few weeks without pooping and you would like to help , put it in a bath of luke warm water (not too deep). This can help if the animal gets constipated.:snake:

That is correct, they can go many weeks without going. I wouldn't worry too much.;)

I was getting very anxious when Simon took almost a full month to poop after I got him. I wanted to take him to the vet to have him checked out and sexed (I needed to name him, after all :)). I kinda wish he had maintained his original schedule, since he seems to poop weekly or biweekly (at most) now. As I've got his tank cluttered with aesthetic enhancements, he also seems to pee/poop in the most inappropriate locations. Figures.

    Re: Snake poop
As long as your feeder is about the same size of the snakes mid section, you're good!

My first BP did not poop for almost 1 1/2 months. We had pee and urates...but that was it. Then low and behold she shed and there was the biggest poop I have ever seen out of a baby snake. I thought my dog snuck in and dropped one.
