    Mite question?
My rat supplier just found out he had mites last weekend. He got them from a new pair of corns, and the spread through his boas like you wouldn't believe.

I've never had mites, and really really don't want them. I have some PAM to be on the safe side. He is bringing me a batch of rats tonight. Can rats carry mites? Are there any special precautions to take to make sure I don't get them? Should I not have him come over and just wait?

I know he treated all weekend and should be rid of the adults, but I'm still concerned. I don't want mites. What would you do?

I'd hold off a week. The snakes will be fine, and you'll be sure no hitchhikers are arriving.

    Hi,

Ask him what he used and how he used it to treat his collection and if he treated the rats as well.

Then double check for known problems with whatever products he used before feeding anything to your snakes.

Well, if you already have the PAM, go ahead and treat to be on the safe side...
