What am I?

I enjoy playing with lighting for pics and you can make some pretty cool pics with a macro no flash, different lighting and some creativity. I was just playing around and manged to get this cool shot. No photoshop is used to edit my pics, (mostly cause I dont know how to use it :P).
heres the fun part, can you guess what this is?(besides a ball python, I'll give you that much)

I will reveal the answer in a month, I plan to use this pic for my bpom entry.

I can barely see some pattern on it - so we can already drop the idea of an 8-ball.

I guessed a normal but I could also be tempted to say black pastel.

Not photoshopped or edited, the way you see the pic is the way it is on the camera, minus the minor frame around the edge. I add a very thin black shaded frame to all my pics but it does not affect the overall picture.
