Pet Store Owner offered to sex my BP.

So there's this really awesome pet store down near me called Amazing Pets.

He's got a few BP morphs, tons of poison dart frogs, hog island boas, rare turrtles, bird eating tarantualas and tons tons more crazy stuff.

Anyway, he offered to sex my BP if I brought it in to his store.

I want to, but i'm sort of worried about possible sickness. The pet store is clean as all hell, all animals are very well taken care of, but still. I want to know if it's too much of a risk or not. If there's any real risk I won't do it.

Transportation would not be an issue since it's Southwest Florida and the outside temps are currently 85 anyway :D

Any input on this would be greeeeaaatly appreciated!

If the petstore is clean and animals are healthy, then I do not see any problem with taking your snake there to have them sex it for you.

Why not see if he will teach you how to sex the snake for yourself. Could be a fun learning experience and if he showed you on his snakes then you wouldn't even have to take yours in. Just an idea.

I wish we had a pet store like that around us, I'd live there!! I'd also agree that it would be pretty safe to bring your ball there as long as it doesn't come in contact with any other animals is all. And definitely take this opportunity to learn how to do it yourself. Have fun!!

I agree, see if he'll show you on one of the bps in the store and teach you how to do it. Then you can just sex your own snake and now worry about disease.

i would say its ok if its a reputable store and clean .. i bring mine to a pet store near me that deals with herps only and i watch them probe them ... they use a sterilzer between each probing and use a new little pouch of lube for each snake .. just make sure you can see him do it .. dont let him take your snake to a back room to do it

If the store is clean then it's no different than bringing your snake to a private breeder's place to get it sexed.
