Need help. Inexpensive temporary housing.
My custom rack order got delayed. I'm getting three new snakes delivered now and their homes are not going to be ready. Does anyone have an inexpensive temporary solution?

Stand alone plastic tubs + uth + dimmer switch
Re: Need help. Inexpensive temporary housing.
Go to your local Target or Walmart and pick up some good tubs with tight fitting lock on lids. There is a sterilite brand with green locks that holds pretty well (avoid the purple locks!). Or if you can find the old black snap on ones, those are REALLY tight locks and thick plastic tubs.
Then of course the heating essentials, uth and dimmer switch will do fine as Deb said. :]

A few latchtop plastic storage tubs with a few holes drilled into the sides work really well for temporary housing. You can use just a regular heating pad from the drug store with the temp set to low for heat. Make sure you get the cheap ones that don't automatically shut off after a certain time.

what Deb said.

Do you not drill holes in the tubs?
Re: Need help. Inexpensive temporary housing.
You can drill them, poke them, or melt them. For me, melting them with a soldering iron was quickest. If you don't want to spend the money on one, you can try heating up a small phillips screwdriver with a candle or lighter. If you drill, just make sure there are no sharp burs around the holes and you clean all the shavings out...

How long of a delay is the rack?
Can you just have the breeders hold onto them for the time being until the rack comes in?
