Het ghost female with yellow belly male
I have a gorgeous YellowBelly Male and would like to breed him with a Het. Ghost female. What do you guys think I will end up with? I have searched several books and cannot seem to get any thing?
Re: Het ghost female with yellow belly male
You could produced Yellow Belly poss het Hypos (Ghost) and poss het Hypos.
Re: Het ghost female with yellow belly male
Thanks, I am still trying for some albino's out of "my het albino" male, so I might put him with the Het Ghost Female. But I could also do my het albino female with my yellow belly male. I dont know. I am wanting to get something different. Is there a spread sheet out there somewhere that shows what you could get by breeding different morphs and hets?
Re: Het ghost female with yellow belly male
By putting the het albino male with the het ghost female you would only produce 50% poss double het albino hypo.
Re: Het ghost female with yellow belly male
In order to produce albinos you have to cross the Het Albino male with the Het Albino female. You won't produce hypos without a complimentary het either. This is because it's a recessive gene, both parents have to carry it. Because Yellowbelly is a codominant morph, it could be passed on without having a partner that contains the gene.
Re: Het ghost female with yellow belly male
try this program, it tells you what morphs and hets make what and the percentage. You need a basic understanding of codoms, recessives and dominents to properrly enter the genes of your parent snakes.

this is a program for corns , ball, and boas.

Ghost is a Recessive mutation
Yellow Belly is a Co-Dominant mutation
Your outcome would be Yellow Bellies with a 50% Chance of being Het for Ghost, and Normals with a 50% chance of being Het for Ghost.

You are trying to get albino's from your het albino male. Putting him with your Het Ghost female will not give you any albinos. Since both Albino and Ghost are recessive mutations you will get all normals that have a 50% chance of being het for Albino, and a 50% chance of being het for Ghost.
Your Het Albino female bred with your Yellow Belly male will. Will give you Normals and Yellow Bellies both with a 50% chance of being het for Albino.
In my Opinion, Breed your Male het Albino to your Female Het albino. This will give you a chance to actually produce albinos. Breed your YB to your Het Ghost unless you have a Het ghost male or better yet a Ghost male to breed to her.
Then hold back the best Visuals that you produce and use them for Crossing later on down the road. This will allow you to produce YB's 100% het for Ghost or Albino later on rather than YB's that have a 50% chance of being Het and then growing them up and trying to prove them to be het.
