    Switching prey items
I just got a new pair of ball pythons. I believe they are both 07's. The male spider is around 500+ grams and the female is around 300+ grams. The guy who I bought them from wasnt the original owner but he knew they were on a live rat diet. Now I have had them about 2 weeks and have fed twice. I offered them ft mice. The female at first was striking defensively, but eventually wrapped up and ate the mouse both times. Now the male is not interested in the ft mice at all. How do I get him to convert to ft mice from live rats?

If they were on rats , leave them on rats. By trying to convert them to mice , your kinda taking 2 steps backwards. Try F/T rats.

My first thought is that they are a little light for being 07 BP's? Did you get them checked out?

Well i bought them from someone who sold them for the family of the animals owner because he passed away. He believed they were 07's. Im thinking they are more like 08's. They each have good body weight. I see no reason to have them checked out. As far as keeping them on rats, i dont have a problem with that. But I see the switching of live prey to ft being a problem. Any ideas or techniques to get them to switch?
