    Stop shedding!!
Almost after time I feed my Kingsnake, he sheds. Every time I feed him, he goes straight into his water dish and sits there for days, barely getting out of it. He's an '06 oe '07 male Mexican Black that eats like a pig. I feed him a small F/T rat weekly, and he weighs 650-somethin grams (can't remember).

Why is he shedding so much, and soaking in his water dish for days right after he eats??

Mine does seem to shed quite often too, definitely more frequently than the boa. It seems she's shedding every couple of weeks or so - I think she's in the middle of it right now, as she's hiding and didn't even come out to eat. I checked on her and she's fine, but that's what she does when she's ready for a shed.

Being only 1.5 years old or so, I'm guessing she sheds so much because she's still growing (she's only about three feet right now), but I thought that as they got older, the shedding frequency decreased.

Mine is an early '06 or '07 and between 4-5 feet long, so I have no clue why he sheds so much. It seems he's shedding about every other week.

No superficial injury that he may be trying to shed out?

Nope none at all. He hasn't ever had one injury, he's always been a healthy snake (except for an RI that I successfully treated, and it is all gone). He's always shed a whole lot, just didn't really ever know why. I guess he likes to grow?:P
