I couldn't make it past the first two minutes not because of their ignorance but because of how dull they speak.

Thank you so much for posting this!

    My beefs:

    1. Guy from fish and wildlife: Everglades is in jeopardy! So let's ban all of them across the entire country! Yeah, that makes sense.

    2. Boa constrictors don't live too much farther south than the U.S. border. If they were able to survive in U.S. habitats, they'd be here already! (Only rosy boas survive in the U.S.)

    3. Did anyone notice that there are more households with reptiles than supporters of HSUS (1/20 vs. 1/28)? I found that amusing.

    4. HSUS: Our mission is to "extoll the human and animal bond." Yeah, right. Not wanting any animal to be a pet is "extolling" this bond? My fat butt.

    5. HSUS says they're all for preventing animal cruelty and promoting animal welfare. And yet, they expect us to continue to properly care for our snakes when no one sells the proper feeders, bedding, housing, etc. because the ban killed the market?

    6. HSUS emphasizes that the bill doesn't ban ownership; it just bans the import, export, and interstate sales. Um, exactly how does this help the Everglades?

    7. Since when do the large constrictor snakes "grow very quickly" and can "quickly escape their enclosures"? Boas, especially, are fairly slow-growers. Even some species of python grow fairly slowly. It's not like people wake up the next day and find a 20-foot snake in their bedroom.

    8. Since when were boas "established and breeding" in Florida? I've only seen evidence of Burms and some African Rocks.

    9. OH, no! A Burm ate someone's pet goose! HEAVEN FORBID! We should remove all great horned owls from Arizona because they sometimes eat people's cats and small dogs! We should kill all wolves because they sometimes eat livestock! Grrr.

    10. That one guy toward the end said these snakes have been found "all over the state" (Florida). Really? Show me where Burms have been found in Orlando. Or Tallahassee. Or the western Panhandle.

    11. Interesting how this guy keeps talking about the danger these snakes pose to neighborhoods and children. Remind me, fella, how many wild Burms have killed people? OH, YEAH. NONE. The accidents are all caused by irresponsible owners!!!!

    12. Again, they're all talking about the effects of these snakes in Florida. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY NEED TO BE BANNED IN ALL STATES!!!!! GAH.

These politicians need to take a basic logic class before they're allowed to be on these committees. Anyone who has taken the most introductory science or philosophy class could pick out the fallacies and misleading comments being spewed by these people. ARGH.

How in the world do we expect other countries to listen to us and respect us when people believe this kind of drivel? How can we expect to be a world leader with these kinds of people making our laws?
