    It seems like a pretty clear case to me... The guy shot once in clear self defence, had a permit to carry the weapon, and stayed at the scene until the police arrived. Heck, if they convict him of anything, he probably won't get more than a fine.

    As I understand the Michigan Castle Doctrine Law, the man defending himself from assault was well within the law in his actions to defend himself from physical attack.

    They didn't arrest him just held him for questioning.
