    i need humidity help
my guy is about ready to shed(blue eyes) and the humidity is only 45%. i spray the cage down and itll go up to 70-80 but within 30min its right back to square one. I have aspen bedding and i put seran wrap over half the lid. I just put a humid hide in there on the cool end but he wont go in it. I tried putting him in but he came right out and went to the hot side under his normal hide. Ive only had him a few months and this will be his second shed, the first was very bad and i dont want this one to be also. I use a heat bulb becuase i cant get the correct temp otherwise(half the time i have to move the lamp around as it is). What can i do.

    thanks

Get rid of the heat lamp and stick with a uth, heat lamps suck out the mouisture, also is he in a tub or tank? If tank u can cover some of the screen with aluminum foil, put the water bowl closer to the heat or even giv ur bp a soak

Heat bulbs will fry your humidity, it's very hard to compensate. You could 1) cover up more of the lid 2) have a giant water bowl under the heat lamp so evaporation increases 3) add a second water bowl 4) keep spraying like its your job.

If you can do a radiant heat panel it will be better on your humidity. Otherwise, in the day or two before he sheds just spray the heck out of everything.

X2. I used to use my 50 gal, and this is what i did for sheds. Just make sure to wash it as soon as he sheds. I usually put clean ones on every day, but a few days shouldn't hurt. Wet towels are a breeding ground for bacteria, so just be careful.

Also, I had a friend who put some we moss in a tuperware container and poked holes into it. That worked as well.
