Looking for kind words, my boyfriend has testicular cancer
It was confirmed as of yesterday, they found a tumor *sigh*. He's going in for surgery on Wednesday and from there they will decided what needs to be done, radiation or chemo. The doc kept reminding me that it has a very high success rate, but I've still been in tears off and on. I'm hoping against hope that everything goes well. I feel bad because I'm supposed to be there for him and HE has to console me...pathetic I know! We've been together for 4 years so I've grown attached to him :P

It sounds like the only "bad" thing that will come of this is that we can't have kids for two years  It wasn't bad news for me! Now we have a reason to keep pushing kids off when the family asks :D (And yes we've been asked about kids! Aren't we supposed to get married first?  )

I'm just looking for kind words and support from those who have experienced this or have loved ones who experienced it. I'm sure he'll be ok, but I still worry.

For me, nothing makes me feel better than a good joke. It's all about timing and knowing what the person can tolerate. Something like:

"I've always wanted you to shave down there anyway."

You know him better than we do.

Also, the less stress he sees from you, the better he'll feel.

Thanks very true! He's taking it really well. It seems like the only thing he's worried about is having a surgery, he's never had one before. I've been joking with him about how people can't call him uno, they will have to call him Bionic man. For those that didn't know, you can get a prosthetic....eh hem. He jokes about people asking to touch it like they do with fake breasts. I told him I surely hope not. Lol.

I'm glad they have prosthetics, I'm not sure I could handle him having a complex about it because he had cancer. Cancer is a big deal no matter where it is, people are really inconsiderate about men who've had testicular cancer. I don't understand.....

It won't be functional, but he jokes about people asking to touch it like they do with fake breasts. I told him I surely hope not. Lol.

Lol. At least you two are trying to stay positive. Did you ever watch Patch Adams? Saddest movie ever, but sometimes laughter is the best medicine.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you two. Good luck!

Thank you! You guys are making me tear up again! I cried in my Spanish class because I went back to class right after I found out. That was embarrassing, but I sucked it up and was able to continue with class. Everyone probably thought I was a freak. Oh well.

 I KNOW!!!! Actually, a good friend of ours, a male, is very curious about the implant. I wouldn't be terribly surprised, if there was enough alcohol involved, if he asked
