Who should I breed this girl with?
I am going to breed this girl for the second year in a row and last year went great but this year I want your opinion on who I should breed her with.
This is the girl in question her name is vanilla and she weighs 2100 grams and yes that is actually what she looks like.

This is the male she bred with last year Malachai a very nice high gold male.

Or should I go with the pastel male I have Senna

Let me know what you think.

Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
i would go with the pastel ... change it up a bit and see what you get
Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
Added note forgot to mention Senna is in shed and is actually not browned out that much he has since shed and is bright as day now.
Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
Well I would go with a pastel
At least it's a morph. An eventually, you might be able to produce super pastel if you get a few girls that you keep.
You also have to take into consideration, what you will do with the offsprings. There is already lot of pastel and normals on the market that people have problem selling. Don't base on this, but think about it.
May be you will want to not breed her too ?
Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
yea i would def go with the pastel if she is alot brighter now ... but i like the female she is nice and dark like my black back

Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
I know about the market and already have plenty of buyers lined up for anything I produce. Just wanting opinions on this breeding. All my other males are taken and these are my only 2 free ones.
Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
Breed her to both and see what you get! If you are only going for one male then go with the pastel.

Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
I honestly thought most everyone would say to breed her to the normal only because breeding her to the pastel could very easilly make some ugly pastels... Now keep in mind I have bred her before to the normal so I do know whats going on with her for the most part there is still a few little details I need to figure out. Also so everyone knows she is an import and is 6 years old now. She was imported as a baby and has been in my care for 6 years and boy is she a biter. I still love her though. Anyways so far I am thinking the pastel from what I am seeing here and yes I am going to base her breeding only on what i see here.
Re: Who should I breed this girl with?
Personally, I wouldnt breed her to the pastel. In my case, I only pair normal females who are very light in color with pastels so I lessen the chance of them browning out. I would rather my male sit out a season or two rather than produce just so so looking examples. In fact, this year, he is sitting it out since my lightest females have other "dates".
Now on the other hand, I think she would go great with an albino, shooting for high contrast down the road.

That is exactly why I thought most people would say the normal male. The pastel is being bred to a very nice and light female this year another dinker I have going and from last years breeding of that females a pastel is the best choice. This one I am hoping to get another year of the results I got last year and maybe something different. Future plans are for an albino but no albinos this year because I do not have them yet but will soon they will be my next purchase along with a fire.
