    Acu-Rite thermometer
I am using a Acu-Rite digital thermometer (I will post a link to it at the bottom). It is reading my hot spot as being 93, but when I put my hand on it it does not seem to be that hot. Are there thermometers accurate, I have read that a lot of people use them

If it feels hot to you, it will burn the snake. It should feel warm.

it feels warm but I am not sure if it feels close to 90. It is not hot enough to burn me or the snake that is what I am worried about. Im not sure it is getting up to the temp it needs to be.

Im pretty sure the thermometer is able to judge temperature better then your hand. :gj:

Remember your body temp should be 98.6. So 90 will not feel that hot to you.

Besides the fact you can judge temperature based on a touch because your body temperature is higher than the "reading" I have a few acu-rite thermometers and each one reads differently. Go buy a decent infrared thermometer.

I just want to know if this brand has a good reputation or not. I dont want to have a debate over how well you can tell temp with you skin.

Yes, many people on here use them, myself included.

I have been using them for a long time. My snakes are just fine.

I also use acu-rite thermometers and they seem to work fine. I use a PE-2 temp gun to double check them.
