    very new to lizards
i have a ball python and i love him and as a result ive been looking at all sorts of reptiles(ive always been a fan but my mom never was ok with them so i couldnt have one, shes gotten beter now[im 21 and way more responsible]) and im collecting more pets. Im headed to a reptile show at the end of the month and i want to know a bit about lizards before i go.

the most importnat to me as i can read countless caresheets for other info. Can they be handled regularly? That is to say if i went to a few pet stores in my area can i handle there lizards to get a feel for them before i make any final decision?

what are the best beginer lizards?
can any of them be kept togethor(wether all the same kind or varying species)?

    thanks

I would look at crested geckos, leopard geckos, and bearded dragons.

All are very different lizards and have different requirements. Crested geckos do not need insects. Leos are beautiful with their blacks, whites, oranges and yellows. Beardeds are full of personality.

Tough decision. I would figure out how much money you are willing to spend and how much space you have.... What are you looking for? Bigger or smaller? Terrestrial or arboreal? Lots of good lizards out there;)

I really love my berber skink, good to handle, non biting, quite active. I keep mine in a large tank(45-50?) but a 20 g Long would work.

I personally like crested geckos. But you cant go wrong with a skink, bearded dragon, Leopard gecko, or frilled dragon (too bad frilleds are almost all captive hatched).

if you wat a good starter lizard leos, but if you want a great starter lizard that requires more then beardies are the way to go, its been said the look foward to being held, and my two are the same, plus some amazing morphs. be warned though babys can eat anywhere from 60-1oo crix a day, for my 2 i got throught a little over a 1000 a month.
