found that black pastel thats been missing for months
Where? On the road, ran over. Cant believe she was still alive up until know, just to find her as road kill. My guess is what happened is when she escaped, she went through a hole that I thought she wouldnt have been able to squeeze through, to under the house, chilled there all these months and then tried to find somewhere warmer and traveled outside.

    bummer

I knew id never find her after the first or so month, so at the very very least I have peice at mind that shes still not somewhere withen the house, growing to be 30 feet long and stalking the sewer pipes.

I'm so sorry man, nothings worse than having a snake escape when you thought you did everything to secure the habitat. Well at least she was found before winter came and it got really cold.

Yeah, the problem was I was a few hours away from shipping her out and she had temporarily been in a snake bag, and she got out of that.

OMG! You told me about her too! Wow i cant believe she ended up in the rd after all this time. Would you believe in all the years ive been keeping reptiles i just lost my first snake in the house this year? It was a hatchling too. She was found within an hour thankfully. Had gotten under the aquarium cabinet and just stayed there.

Well like the other poster said. At least you now know she isnt somewhere starving or freezing. That does stink though.

This is why they're passing laws people. Everyone with a lot of snakes has had them escape, but you really need to make sure they can't get outside if they do get loose.

It was a freak accident, under normally circumstances there's no way it could have escaped. I had no idea if you stuck a snake in a silk pillow case for an hour, that the best way to get a knot of out silk is to easily shake it, or in my case have a moving snake in it.

Regardless this snakes had months to figure out how to get outside, and she didn't last long. I live in a very country place so theres no neighborhood to see it and freak out/call animal control or call the news...eat her maybe...

Cant say I didn't tear up the house looking for her either, so you can keep your guns in your holster Neil:gj:

A ball pyhon wouldnt survive long in GA anyway. I dont even think one would survive long in FLA. They require higher & more stable temps & humidity than burms & rocks.

That being said. It would probably be better for us all if it were the other way around. Maybe they wouldnt keep trying to pass these laws if something as harmless as a ball were the culprit.

Still, there are much more dangerous things in GA than Matts BP. Bobcats, rattlesnakes, coyotes, even the possibility of wolves, florida panthers or even western cougars. We get the occasional cougar & wolf up here near chicago even.

If his ball hadnt been hit on the road if would have probably become food for something else.

Hey BG knows it happens, but we all do need to be as careful as possible these days. This could have easily landed on the NATIONAL ...no wait....WORLD WIDE news if the right person found your snake.

You really have no idea how long it lived outside either. It could have been outside for months. It could have ate the neighbors cat, their dog, their missing kid....who knows.;) Well, that's what the news would have reported anyway.:taz:
