    Tub set up question
Want to move a single ball python from glass tank to a tub. Is there a DIY on how to do this?

Can I use a UTH with a tub or do I need flexwatt?

Any help would be great. She is about 2 months old.

    Thank you in advance.

You -need- a thermostat on a UTH, the thermo will put you at the same if not more than a glass tank setup. It's not about saving money, its more for convenience of maintaining good husbandry and for the comfort of the snake c:

That said, I personally am using a zoomed UTH for each of my snakes on their tubs, each has it's own thermostat as well. I've spent around $300 on this setup and would choose it over the tank I did have (40gal breeder tank, nightmare to keep humidity up). Once I can afford to build a rack system I'm switching to flexwatt and a nice Reptile Basics thermo.

When you do make the switch, make sure to monitor the setup for a few weeks to make sure humidity and temps are golden. Also make sure you have a way to keep said ball python in the tub if you're using the lid (weights, clips, beer cases, whatever happens to work)

cheapest solution is flexwatt, a $12 pyrometer from Harbor Freight, an extension cord with built in dimmer swtich from Lowes or home depot $13, and a tub of your choosing...

I can setup a tub to house an adult boa for roughly $100.

$25 for a Xmas tree box from Walmart
    $13 for extension cord/dimmer switch
    $12 for pyrometer
$26 shipped for 4' of 4" 6w flexwatt from the beanfarm in assembled and ready to go form.

    $2 water dish

If you want a hide...Grocery store give away boxes all the time for free.

This hobby does not have to be expensive.
