Need a Rack system for 5-6 Bp's
Hello All,
I'm new to this hobby and decided that having cages will not be an option for future additions. Ive looked at RBi,animal plastics and Jasons-jungle, i would like a good starter rack that can have hatchlings(started already) and juvis. i want something i can have for a long time that would be able to house adults. i do not have any right BPs right now, i want to get everything dialed in before any snakes are added from what i learned through this site. i don't plan on breeding i just all the morphs that are available. I live in socal so would back heat be ok or should i stick to belly heat? Sorry for the long post I've been searching all over the web and could'nt find what i was looking for.
thanks for any info.

RBI is a fantastic company with great products and excellent customer service. I have their 3x2x1 cages and have 2 racks coming today. Can't go wrong with RBI...

welcome to the site. you can build your own rack that way everything is exactly how you wanted it not what someone wanted to make for you. pretty much everyone uses belly heat it works great. you can find plans for racks in the diy section here.
good luck and if you have any questions at all this is a great place to get answers

if u want a rack that can house all, id suggest boaphiles sideways rhino raxx... i have two of them and they work just fine.
Re: Need a Rack system for 5-6 Bp's
I've been thinking about getting a rack sometime soon too. The tanks take up so much room and are hard to keep at steady temps. From what I've found so far, I like the boaphile plastics rhino racks best. They just look the nicest and I've heard good things about them. :-)
Re: Need a Rack system for 5-6 Bp's
If you have even the slightest bit of carpentry skills, I'd HIGHLY suggest building your own. As stated already, you can build EXACTLY what YOU want. Plus, you save a bundle compared to buying a similar rack.
As far as heating, I'd use back heat for juvies and sub-adults, but definitely belly heat for your adults.

thanks for the quick responses! i checked out boaphile's site and they look really nice would i be able to use 15q tubs in it or should i clutter (inside) the size they come with? i'm also to lazy to build one my self so why not support the industry!

u can mix and match the tub sizes to what u want, call him up jeff is a funny guy to talk to.

RhinoRaxx and Jason's racks from Jason's Jungle are both great!!! And they both include the tubs with their racks which is awesome. In order to be really efficient building your own is the best option though. You can save a lot of money doing it yourself (money that you can use to buy more snakes!)!

When you look at racks online make sure to look and see if the tubs are included. It seems like tubs are not always included.
I love building so I am a DIY person. Lowes or home depot will cut the wood to the size you need, I think they only charge $.50 a cut or something. Most people use MCP (Melamine is just the coating, not the wood itself). I like using the 40qt sterilite tubs from walmart, to me they work the best. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=10401057 Also its usually cheaper buying those online and then picking up at the store.
