This is Jewels he is my pride and joy! I thought he was a she at first then I got him probed and was disapointed but love him just the same. He is 18 inches and have no clue of his age either.

Not be a buzzkill but are they in shed or is that stuck shed on both of their heads?

They are normals, both of whom could use a good soak. Take a look at this sticky http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43403

Very cute snakes! And yes, they appear to be normals & could use a soak as suggested. ;) Nice looking babies, though...

They are both finishing shedding.. We soak them for about 20 minutes about 3 times a day.. Do we need to do it more?

    Hi,

It might help to get some more pictures but it definately does look as though they still have stuck shed on their heads.

Have you read through the bad shed sticky? The info in there should answer most of the questions.

The head can be trickier because they do not generally like people touching it - might be a better idea to put them in a damp pillow case to see if they start it coming off themselves while trying to escape.

If you decide to try that remember to test you can push air out through the damp pillowcase ( cheap low threadcount pillowcases work best ) and turn it inside out so there are no rough seams. :gj:

And, similar to the soaking procedure, you do not want the water any hotter thn 86F as a rough guide.

This is most likely the reason they are having bad sheds. They have natural oils in their skin that water will leech out. BPs don't need to be soaked until AFTER they have a bad shed. Soaking them while they are in blue will actually make a shed worse.

Snakes have been shedding themselves for thousands of years. Just bump their humidity to 65% when you see them going blue and they should shed just fine.
