Food weight :body weight=?
Hello everyone! Ask a few questions I hope get an answer. Thank you very much!
I have two female ball python, they are close to 1400g, I hope that early next year to try to breed them. I would like to know the weight and feeding frequency of feeding? :gj:
Re: Food weight :body weight=?
I think for adults people feed about 10% of the snake's body weight per feeding- but I just look at my snakes and feed based on girth.
Re: Food weight :body weight=?
I never feed anything larger then a small/medium rat (4 weeks old about 85 grams) to my adults, and I do so once a week most of the year.
Re: Food weight :body weight=?
Well, there is only one guy who did some tests, don't know on how many snakes etc... so don't know if the population of test was enough big to really make any statetement.
But he says by feeding prey that are 7-9% of the body weight, that you get a stronger and healthier animal that will grow faster than giving bigger prey.
