What female should I buy?
Hey there! So my 2007 Piebald male is wanting to spread his seed lol... AND I've been thinking about picking up a female to breed him with. Does anyone know any neato combos I could make? I was thinking a morph with a piebald het in it. I like albinos, lav albs, killer bees... any suggestions?

Hmm, I'd pick up an Orange ghost female for him to make ghost pieds :D

There's a ton of combos you could produce, but it would take you a while if you started from scratch. If you do want to start from scratch, start out by putting the male Pied with any morph of your choice. After you get offspring, some COULD be het for Pied, or the snake doesn't have the Pied trait in its genes. To prove out the snake, breed it back to one of the females (that is of the correct weight) that you produced and see if you get both genes present once the eggs have hatched. This is what you call proving out. That's the long-term way of doing so, but you could also go out and buy a morph with het Pied in it and breed it to your male for a short-term project.
So if you wanted to do that long-term project (which would take over 3 years), this is what you would do:
Pied x (example) Spider
Offspring: Spiders, normals, poss hets (anyone correct me if I'm wrong)
Pied x Spider poss het Pied
Offspring: Pieds, Spiders, normals, poss hets, Spider Pieds (anyone correct me if I'm wrong)
Though, don't expect to get the Spider Pied if you do breed Pied x Spider poss het Pied, sometimes the poss hets aren't hets, and if they are you don't have a great chance in getting the Spider Pied.
The short-term way of doing it would be just buying any morph het for Pied and breeding it to your Pied. Though, it's always very important that you have the female up to weight. This is how I think: The bigger the female, the more the eggs, and the greater the chances of hitting that morph you wanted to produce.

Re: What female should I buy?
If its a visual pied and it was bred it to anything the all of the offspring would be 100% het for pied.If the offspring were then bred they Could be 50% or 66% depending on what they were bred to.

Albino piebalds are way cool: http://www.roussisreptiles.com/image...o_pied/ap3.jpg :gj: Not sure if you can make a lavender albino pied, but if you could, that would be sweet!
Edit: Apparently you can make LA Pieds, and they are hot hot hot... http://www.ralphdavisreptiles.com/im..._hatched_3.jpg

Re: What female should I buy?
Well... here's what I'm thinking. Yes I have a visual piebald male. So, ideally I want a "something" het piebald. But these are SO hard to find. Especially what I'm drawn to. First and foremost, this is a pet... not a "breeding business" if you know what I mean. I really like Pastave's and Lav Albino's. I also like Killer Bee's. I just don't want to end up with a ton of offspring that I can't get good homes for.

From what I can tell, anything that's 100% het pied will sell - and quickly! :)

Re: What female should I buy?
I think I've decided...
I saw a "Dreamsicle" and fell in LOVE.
So... I'm going to get a LAV ALBINO and breed her to my Piebald in a few years. Then breed the DH babies together and cross my fingers and pray everyday!!!
Dreamsicle in 5-6 years!!!
