Weight question

I have a normal male that is give or take 2 years old might be a little more just got him from a lady and she was not 100% of age but at least almost 2 year anyway I just weighted him abd he was 1022 grams is that a good weight?

Many people will probably say that their weight really varies depending on the snake. I personally have a normal that's 1301grams and is only 1 year 8 months old, but he's a porker, lol.

I found a few charts that average the weight of 10+ BP's and i'd say if your BP is 1022g at approximatly 24months of age, the snake is doing well size wise.

This chart might help a bit, but again it's an average and all BP's grow differently. It's based off 15 BP's weight data so it's a pretty decent indicator. You can even check the individual snakes data and really see how different their weights can be. http://www.thereddragonsden.com/avgweight.htm

Wow, I took a look at that chart and now I don't know what to think.

People keep telling me that 120 grams for a 5-month-old female isn't that small, but according to those, she should be almost 500?? Oof.

That chart is just an 'average guideline' if anything. If you look at the individual snakes on the linked page, you can see there's a HUGE difference in weight between several of the snakes.

If your BP is shedding well and eating well then I would say you probably don't have to worry. Some just get alot bigger than others. Same thing with humans!

Indeed. Snickets is 4 months old now, and today I just weighed her in at 310g empty. She too is a porker.

What are you feeding ?
I have an 11 month old female Bee that just hit 1000g empty. I have a hatch that was born 5/24/09(70g) and is at 300g. All pounding FT rats. I feed hatches every 5 days move them to a once weekly schedule once they become sub-adults.

Sounds small. Are you feeding rats ? If not try to make the switch.
