    my 2 yr old ball will just sit in the water bowl a couple times a day for about 1 or 2 hrs is that ok. I have him out all the time and see no mites temp is right around 88-91 humidity 57%

    How are you taking your temps?
    Probed thermometer?

    Snakes sit in water for various reasons.

    1. right before a shed
    2. mites
    3. too hot of ambient temp (90 is a bit too hot) 85-87 is about right :)

    Ball pythons don't normally just sit in their water bowls. I would double check for mites in the water bowl, on the snake, and in the substrate.

    How are your hides?
    Do you perhaps have a picture of your setup?
