Season is still going strong down in FL
I get jealous seeing you northern guys getting locks already, but I still have a few clutches cooking so that helps ease my pain. These guys hatched out last night from a lesser x lesser clutch. No lucy's this season but not bad. I think my breeder lesser female is due for a break next season. She only laid 4 eggs this year with one little boob egg that died the in the final few days. Ended up with 1.2. I really like the stripe on the one female.

Yea, I am sure I would get locks, but no matter when I breed the females don't start developing till later in the season anyway so I just don't even bother with early pairings anymore. I feel like it just makes the males wore out by the time the females actually have some good follicles going.

Do you palpate your females old school style or use an ultrasound machine?
