so my BP is about a year old and 2 and a half feet long and about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. im feeding her 2-3 mice a week and she seems like she wants more after the third. can i give a rat now? it just seems like a rat is a little big. how do i judge size of prey based off size of my snake?

The width of the snake is the width of the rat! I would definately switch to rats! You can try a rat pup at first or you may even go to a small rat! It would be easier on the snake and cheaper on you!

If your snake will eat rats, i'd definitly suggest switching to rats.

My snake is quite a bit bigger than yours and he REFUSES to eat a rat no matter how I present it to him, but he'll down mice like there's no tommorow.

Ends up eating 5-6 mice every week. Real picky, piggish snake I have here
