    ball python cage
i am looking too get a ball python in a few days and was wondering some suggestions on bedding and tank. should i use aspen or should i use cage carpet alot of people say cage carpet is easy and simple but some people say aspen helps with the humidity. as far as tanks go i was going to get a ten gallon tank but some people say wood is better. any suggestions.

Cage carpet is garbage. You will never be able to get it clean once the snake defecates on it. It will always leave a lingering smell which means it still has bacteria in it.

Stick with aspen, paper towels, or newspaper. Aspen will do a better job with humidity than newspaper or paper towels.

If anything, a tub is better then a tank. I personally would not go with a wood enclosure for a ball python. They don't make very good display snakes.

For a 10g glass tank, your best option is belly heat (under tank heater) with a thermostat. Lamps will suck the humidity out of the air and it is harder to get the heat down to ground level inside the hides.
