Heat tape problem

Has anyone had any issues with one end of a strip of heat tape being hotter than the other? If so do you know if shortening the strips and wiring them in parallel will change that

if your flexawatt is wired is series then yes there will be what is called voltage drop. causing each load on the circuit to have a drop. if you look up Ohms law this will dictate how much of drop there will be.

in parallel you would not have this situation. so yes it would change that

In general, and again Im a noob, but it would make sense that the farther away the tape is from the start that the power will decrease longer the tape.

In general I have not had this problem with the tape. There are areas in the rack that vary but this is more do to heat rising...top being warmer then bottem issues.
