    Rack question
    I was wondering if i could make a rack out of plywood incase i cant find any melamine.If i can would kind of plywood would you recommed.

    I reckon you could. I think I'd take MDF over plywood just for the nice smooth surface though. Melamine is everywhere, you'll find it. Lowes, Home Depot, and Menards all stock it.

    Oh dear, don't use MDF!!!!! It will just fall apart if it gets wet or if the humidity gets too high.

    If you need to use plywood, get a sealer for it so it can't get wet. Birch plywood is the cheapest and should be easy to find.

    That being said, I don't think you will have a problem finding melamine. If you can't find it in the lumbar section, check the shelving system section.

    I have a couple of my first racks that I ever built using MDF, a person would have to soak that stuff in water for along time before it would fall apart.

    Would definately recommend melamine over it but MDF can be used for several years without any problems.

    MDF will mold horribly also.

    you can find melamine. jsut call a hardware store.

    As long as its laminated there wont be any problem. Always pre drill with MDF.
