    Paradox?
Hey guys, just wanted to get everyone's opinions on Paradoxes. Are they worth the hefty pricetags for a blotch of irregular color on a snake? As far as i know (and i could def be wrong) paradox is just a fluke, not genetic, so would just like to know everyone's thought as to why or why wouldn't you shell out an extra couple grand for a paradox snake. Would love to be more informed on these. thanks

I love them because they can't be reproduced.. Why have a regular morph when you can have one that no one else can reproduce..I like ringers too for the same reason

My favorite parodox animal that I have seen have been the paradox super mojaves. They are unique one of a kind animals. I would shell out the cash for a paradox just the same as another animal for the simple reason of... I like it.

    Re: Paradox?
So far, there hasn't been any paradox that was proven to be genet, but TSK has produced three hypo mojave paradox BPs, so there could possibly be some complex genetics at play, at leas in some of the paradox animals that have been produced. For the most part, people accept that the paradox only has the genetic breeding power of heterozygous mutation, but some people will pay the higher price for the fact that they are not reproducible, which makes them very very rare in collections. When I hatched out a BEL paradox, I sold it to an importer/collector in Asia who just wanted it in his collection to show his customers that he could get his hands on the rarest reptiles, and also because it was a beautiful one of a kind snake for his collection. It's also a possibility that at least some of the ones that have been produced do have some complex genetics at play, and if someone were able to figure it out and reproduce one, they would obviously be able to make a lot of money from it.

you answer your own question, I think the best paradox animals are the ones that are between a morph and its super form. I love it

i was thinking the same thing about why so much more but it does depend on the morph, how much and how well it shows.

i got some good responses on this thread i posted a few days back about the paradox http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=104094

I feel like I've seen a disproportionately larger number of paradox mojaves (white snake w/splotches of mojo pattern) posted for sale than paradoxes of other morphs ...

Dunno if it's something to do with that whole weird complex of genes or just a coincidence, but it's fun to have that something extra to hope for when I finally breed my mojo girl :)

    Paradox Ivories are hot(IMO)

Kind of neat to see the YB pattern showing through, and almost makes it look pied like.

I agree, there's got to be something going on with that. There are SEVERAL breeders that have made a super mojo paradox. Very weird..... They are by far my favorite paradox.
