Not pooping?

my ball python is still a baby, and i feed him weekly, one medium arctic mouse each time, and he gets it really fast, he seems to be acting normal(from what i've read).. and stay hidden during the day and does most of his movement at night, he is currently shedding but has not pooped in the past two-three weeks.
is this normal? is it because he is shedding? should i be worried?

He will poo as soon as the shed slides off.

Sometimes they wait a while before going. But when they shed they often defecate as well. I wouldn't worry about it. :]

Babies or hatches tend to poop less frquently as they're bodies absorb more of the food item. My hatches only seem to poop once evry 4 feedings or so.

watch for the hugest poo you have ever seen right after the shed. Elizabeth had one that I swear was a dogs.....lol

LMAO... you should see what Mona (5-footer) leaves me sometimes. :O Puts my 40lb dog to shame!

And yeah, they usually wait until shedding to poop - it's always a lovely mess of shed skin, poop & pee, especially with the bigger snakes. I actually like how they do that, since you get the cleaning done in one shot. :gj: Also realize that BPs of any age can go weeks without defecation, so that's typically nothing to worry about unless they seem otherwise unhealthy. My younger ones tend to go every other week, sometimes every 3 weeks, and the big ones can easily wait 4-6 weeks between poops. Wish the dog worked like that, LOL.

what you can also do is warm water in a tub .. it will help with the shed and also helps them poo .. just place your snake in a warm tub of water and let it swim around for about 10-15 min this should help it shed and also helps the pooing process

Believe it or not, but this is when my first BP was about 4 months old. Call me sick, but something that big out of such a small snake... I HAD to take a picture!

Soaking before a shed will NOT help a shed. It will more often then not make the shed go BAD.

There is no need to soak your snake to MAKE it poop. It will poop when it wants too. Unless its been over 6 weeks or something, there is no reason to try and trigger a poo poo.
