They have been courting all day, but no copulation or locks.
Does this happen to a lot of people? I have been watching my breeding pair all day and they are interested in each other, but he just cant seem to find her vent. Hes been rubbing up against her for almost 9 hours now but hasnt actually locked. Is this normal or am I just impatient?

Completely normal. Sometimes they lock, sometimes they don't - you're a LONG way from ovulation, even if they did lock right away.

Thanks, yeah it seems like it would be difficult to find where everything is, from the snakes perspective lol. thanks again. :P

Whoa! He sounds like a freak in the tub!

But seriously, completely normal. If after a day or so no lock, then just try again later. If he's showing interest that's at least a step in the right direction. I'm sure it'll happen!

That happened to me... my pair was courting, but no locks. The next time I put them together, *boom* they locked right away. Just give them time, and they will do it eventually. Courting is always a good sign :gj:

Thanks guys, but I have one more question, does the female usually just kinda sit there and do nothing, but allows the male to do all the work? Should the female be doing something or is it normal for her not to be doing much of anything?

LOL... that's going to be the hardest part for me! I'm only one month into the process, and already thinking "How long until I see some babies?" :D:oops:
