    general feeding question
I have a 2 year old male normal in a 40 gallon tank..got him shortly after he hatched.. never weighed him ... almost 3ft long no pictures yet sorry... he takes a full size pre killed rat easily every 2 weeks and thick enough to eat a full size adult rat and you can barely tell as far as distortion in his body... is it just me or does this seem like he is a little big for his age??????

Sorry that you feel that way - but this IS a big show weekend, with a lot of people away, and you only waited an hour for a response.

AND, it's hard for people to judge if he's big for his age without pictures. Full sized adult rats are different sizes depending on who you ask. My adult male lemon pastel takes adult rats, but I don't think he's big for his age.

Sheesh... it's not a chat room, it's a message board! And to answer your question, it's hard to say without a weight or picture - but all BPs grow at different rates, so you just have to judge based on their current girth. FYI, my (approx) 1 year-old male is about 600g and 3.5 feet long. He could easily take a small-med rat, but prefers 3 mice instead.
