    Newspaper as a bedding
Ive been using unprinted newspaper for a bedding for a while now but it has become un-available in my area. I want to use regular news paper but will it the ink bleed and get onto my snakes? Also one of my snakes LOVES to spill his water.

i use printed news paper and never notice it coming off on my snakes. I mist and everyone has a water bowl that they may move around and spill but no ink rubs off on anyone. Granted, i have mostly darker colored snakes (As opposed to leucies or albinos)

I use unprinted paper from lowes. Costs 9 bucks for 140 sheets and works great for 41 qt tubs!! I also found some good paper pretty cheap for 720 ft. Comes on a roll that I am about to order in the near future from ULINE. Here is the paper I have been using from lowes.........

Yeah, paranoia is probably the only problem. Sure, the ink bleeds a little, but it never has harmed my snake.

I always use printed newspaper and I don't have any problems. I personally use 4 sheets per 41 qt tub (2 side by side in the back over lapped a little and 2 the same way in the front). I don't have a problem with bleeding durring misting or water spilss (not noticable anyways). All my adults are set up this way with no hides. They all prefer to hide under the newspaper and move it around as they see fit. The newspaper is free for me though as my mother gets a paper daily and saves them for me when she is done reading them. I was going to switch to unprinted but I don't know if they would hide under it and with one sheet in there they wouldn't be able to bunch some up and hide under some or whatever. And I would have to pay for it so for now I use printed newspaper and I like it :gj:

To prevent any ink smudges and also because it simply looks nicer, I put a single layer of paper towel over the newspaper. (The AcuRite probe goes between the newspaper and paper towel over at the warm side.)

I use news paper and like using it. My wife doesn't like the ink stains on the albinos!
