Does that make it twice as CITIES as say....a regular CITIES animal? And just what, if you don't mind sharing, denotes a 200% CITIES animal as opposed to one that is simply CITIES?
Re: Is Ball Pythons A CITIES Animal?
All pythons are CITES listed animals. CITES listing does not indicate that the species is rare in the wild--it only indicates that the species is of high commercial interest, and therefore requires regulation to prevent overcollecting, etc. Different CITES levels indicate the different levels of protection the animals need, with the tightest controls applied to endangered species, and the loosest to animals that are very common (such as ball pythons).
Canada requires a permit for all CITES animals entering their country--the supplier who is shipping the animal needs to provide that.

Hi Daniel,
Twice you have asked about taking snakes into Canada - in both threads I have mentioned ball pythons are CITES 2 animals and that you need paperwork.
You will definately need to arrange this in advance as both sides probably need papers - you to import and the seller to export.
You cannot turn up at a show, buy an animal, and take it across the border.
Talk to one of the bigger breeders as the others have recommended - they will be able to tell you what paperwork will be needed, how much it costs, where to get it and how long it will take for it to be in place at both ends.
