thinking of getting frog

sothing non-aquatic. had some green tree-frogs back in the day. any way whats a good frog, that can fit in one of those big critter keepers, and live w/O any heater. if not any what a good eginner frog

You will be hard pressed to find a frog to thrive in those conditions. Most frog will need a heat source of some kind, and critter keepers are really not large enough for most frogs, if any. (properly anyhow)

If you are looking for a beginner frog try a pyxie or pacman. Both are terrestrial burrowing frogs that only need a ten gallon for most adults, male pyxies will definitely need larger though. Very hardy species and very simple care.

But I doubt you wanna keep either of those in a large cricket keeper, they get too big. If you can do a 20 gal I would recommend a pacman or a female pixie. 10 gallon would work too but for a pixie I would do a 20.

Depending on where you live dictates whether your gonna need a headpad or not. If you live anywhere but Florida your probably going to need to either bump your house heater up during the winter or get an in-room heater. But you wont necessary need a heat pad for those options.

Me= No expert, just learning myself.

Just like to add, I saw a pixie frog a week or two ago... I think it must have been a male, that thing was huge! Id say at least 9" in diameter.

I personally like the looks of albino pacman frogs but what ive read theyre really just a pet to look at. I like whites tree frogs and red eye tree frogs alot too.

This is true for all amphibs really, they pretty much all shouldn't be handled, or at least very rarely. Some toads can tolerate handling more than other amphibs though.

Yeah. Because of that im probably not going to ever have many. Maybe a albino pac man or red eye but ill only get one when im happy with my other "collection" of stuff like snakes first :D

thanx, i was thinking pac-man, i have a spare 75, and when more experanced was gonna make planted dart frog, so wanted to start small. maybe pac-man, or regualr gree tee frog, somthing 10-gallon like, the largest critter keeper i've seen is 12 gallon, but yea probelly get glass cage

a clown tree frog or reed frog, both small types of frogs.
