    Taekwondo people
I'm a white belt, testing for yellow in one week and just wanted to get the taekwondo census of the forum.

I have my second degree black belt. You should really stick with it as long as you can, as it is a very rewarding experience. Plus it's kind of nice knowing that you will be able to defend yourself if the situation ever calls for it. (hopefully it won't)

    Good luck on your test!

    My two sons do it...

It is all about the individual school... (as far as if it is worth it or not)

Oh wow we have some black belts! Congrats, guys.

I'm a freshman in high school and my school has a taekwondo program that I'm planning on following through with for the next 4 years. I'm hoping to be a black belt first degree decided by the time I graduate.

One of my college friends was a 3rd(? I believe) degree "blue belt" (equivalent of black belt) in a korean martial art I believe is spelled Soo Bahk Do.

We did Aikido and a couple other japanese martial arts for a bit together, I didn't keep up with it for financial/time reasons after college. It was tons of fun though

Kung Fu guy here. Or used to be before an injury forced me to stop. Kung Fu doesn't have a belt system but my teacher said I would be a step above black belt. I was a rank 3 student. One more level and I could have be sanctioned to teach.

Oh, specifically, it was a Hung Gar style. Lowest horse stance on the planet. :)

    One more thing.

I hope you are taking traditional TKD. The commercialzed version is crap. More TKD people these days don't know what to do if someone get past their legs.
