why pied het so cheap?

Just wondering why they sell pied 100 percent het so cheap. I was at the show today and most of them were going for 75 to a 100. Thats seems so cheap to raise and produce 1000 dollars babies. I would think that the hets would go for at least 300. Any reason why they dont?

Well, primarily because albinos aren't selling for $1000 anymore. I've seen them going for $300-400 this season.

Sorry, read it completely wrong. I read albinos somehow. Male het pieds sell cheap, but females are still typically priced significantly higher. Pieds aren't going for 3-400 just yet. :)

Mainly because they are not a visual morph basically they are "normals" with fancy genes.

just seems like the low price will drive more people to get the hets instead of buying the pied itself. If the hets were priced at 300 then it might allow people to wait and buy the pied. I dont know i guess im looking at it through a business sense. I wish i had more money would of picked some up.

Most people I know don't have much problem selling their pieds. The lower prices you're seeing for the hets are hatchlings. Someone has to have patience enough to wait out the 2-3 years of growth and then have a little breeding luck. A lot of people are not that patient, so they'll buy the visual. Buying breeder aged 100% hets is a totally different price range.

Ya thats true. Those hets were small 09 so i see your point.

I'm going to guess the ones you saw may or may not have been 100% hets.

I dont know it said 100%het but they were all probly 90 to 120 grams
