Substrateless egg grates for boxes
Yes i did a forum search and can only find info on using the light diffuser panels. But i see in pictures elsewhere people using a black grate with larger square or diamond shaped holes. Its thicker too. Where can i find this type of grate? I want a better method of setting up my boxes to cut down chamber of collapse or possible mold. The pictures Ive seen of this particular grate with eggs on top looks more affective. The eggs are always full round and white up until hatch time too. Any help is appreciated! Thanks! ~Monica
Re: Substrateless egg grates for boxes
Ive used multiple different Incubation styles and Have had eggs full and white up until they hatch. just make sure your Water>Substrate ratio is right and temps or stable and correct you shouldn't have an issue with mold or dimpling or water spots. But I haven't heard of the crates your talking about.

No idea where you can get the other type of light diffuser but I will comment on this.
I am not sure if this is based on your own experience however I have used the regular light crate for the past 2 seasons now and my eggs stay white and plump until the last week (to 2 weeks) of hatching, which is normal since eggs do collapse at the end of incubation.
This is to show you are white eggs stay (not that it really matter).
