    BP.net "Spokessnake", Turk
    Hey Guys....Meet TURK!

Last year at Daytona, BP.net was blessed to be able to get a table. One of the things we wanted to have available was a snake that would make a good "public relations" animal for us....something kids could safely hold and that would be an excellent educational helper at the same time.

Kara, from NERD was gracious enough to donate Turk for our cause. He's a BIG boy! He was a rescue that NERD took in some time ago. I'm not sure of his history, but you can see that he came with some nasty scars. While it makes me sad to wonder what he'd gone through in years past, I was glad to have such an animal to show to the public. He was a quintessential laid back animal that showed folks how calm and "friendly" they can be. He is an excellent representation of the size a mature ball python can grow to. And his scars were a vivid warning to folks that these are living creatures that can suffer through neglect and carelessness.

He's currently making himself at home with me. :D

He may be "just" a "plain ol' ordinary normal male" ball python...but I'm VERY fond of this guy!! I'm proud to give him a good home with lots of yummy rats to fill his tummy!

Wow. I'm interested in what happened to the poor guy that he got those scars, and that belly one looks icky.

But I do send my thanks for what you are doing with him :) And I'd steal that chair too

Glad he's got a good home with you now- Big Bertha (normal female) came to me as an adult with scars... she's a gentle as they get. Turk seems nice sized too. ;)

No clue on his story. I don't think Kara knew, either. He just came into their shop that way. The belly looks bad, but it's long-healed and doesn't seem to bother him in the least. :)

Yeah...I'd like to tie someone down and subject them to a very long lecture on the care and compassion of animals, for however long it takes to make it real to them.
