can ball pythons move their eyes?
i know that their eyes are fixed, and they move their heads to see, but i was holding my pinstripe yesterday, and i looked straight into her eyes, and she kinda looked upwards. her EYES tilted upwards at me.
her head was fixed, but i kid you not, i BELIEVE her eyes moved LOL..
im kinda creeped out by that bc i didnt think she could do that. at first i thought it was an optical illusion, but i was holding her in front of her tub with one light on. i didnt move at all :weirdface
so... can ball pythons move their eyes? am i just going looney? :rolleye2:
Re: can ball pythons move their eyes?
Yes, they can move their eyes.
Re: can ball pythons move their eyes?
Yes they can. Mine do it all the time. It is easier to see on lighter eyed colored snakes such as spiders or pastels. The inner eye is really what moves obviously the outer hard clear looking thing is fixed. But yes this is normal and yes they can move there eyes to some degree.

you can see her pupil isn't center, she was looking back at me because i was holding her kinda oddly to take this picture, i have the untcropped version around here somewhere.
i love watching them look around :D
Re: can ball pythons move their eyes?
Absolutely. Much more noticable on larger bps with colored eyes. Its so awesome as they slither around and you can see them look in different directions. They have an Ocular scale covering the actual eye that doesn't move and which they shed but the eyeball moves around.
